God, Jesus, Man, Woman!

1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV): But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

  1. "Love excludes every kind of submission by wich the wife would become a servant or slave of the husband, an object of one-sided submission. Love makes the husband simultaneously subject to the wife, and subject in this to the Lord himself, as the wife is to the husband." (John Paul II, August 11, 1982)

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." (Eph 5, 25)

  2. "There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus" - Galatians 3:28

The idea of men having authority over women (which as a committed Christian I do not think is a biblical truth) is a far more complex issue than this diagram suggests, with lots of potential for hurt and misunderstanding. The discussion needs wisdom and grace and peace, not black and white statements.

Also it's a bit tricky to represent the Trinity with Jesus under God - I undrestand he gave up his authority for a time while on earth, but he is also God..perhaps this diagram is too simplistic.
